*NOTES

Due to the fact that in many cases professional training has taken place through schools and workshops in certain regions of the United Kingdom (especially Cambridgeshire/East Anglia, Greater London, Midlands), which are a melting pot of ethnic groups and cultures with teachers and massage experts of sometimes unique types and styles, it is not always easy to give the right labels to the massages offered here on MassaggioaCagliari. This is why names and definitions are sometimes written in the original language, with massages and details described as they were learned and subsequently developed through collaboration, experimentation and cultural cross-pollination.

No two massages are identical, even when performed by different people who have attended the same schools and studied with the same teachers, so imagine how different techniques and styles developed by different cultures can vary.

CUSTOMISED! (recommended)

Ideal for everyone! A perfect mix of the massage types listed below to meet your needs, decided with you during the consultation or guided by my experience, adapting the techniques and movements to your needs and/or based on your skin type, muscle tone, tension/stiffness, pressure tolerance, etc... to achieve the most beneficial results. Just decide on the duration, and we'll discuss the details when we meet...

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Ideal for relieving tension even in the deepest layers of the muscles. When chronic muscle tension or injuries are present, contractures and adhesions (bands of painful, stiff tissue) usually form in muscles, tendons and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limited movement and inflammation. Deep tissue massage has the potential to physically break up these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. Fingers, thumbs, heel of the palm, forearms or even elbows can be used to apply the necessary pressure where needed. It can be particularly useful for chronically tense and contracted areas, such as stiff necks, lower back pain and sore shoulders. In certain situations, the same movements as in classic massage are used, but the movement is much slower and the pressure is deeper and more concentrated on areas of tension and pain (including techniques similar to those used in connective tissue/decontracting massage*).

Petrissage massage therapy kneading for the legs

REVITALISING MASSAGE

It will make you feel healthier, more energetic and invigorated (combination of deep tissue massage, swedish massage and other techniques*)

PAIN RELIEF MASSAGE

It has the potential to combat various types of pain... from common back pain to other types of discomfort.

Ideal for soothing muscle pain (caused by adhesions/contractures, irritated nerves or grade 1 strains in the subacute phase), it might be very effective in reducing stiffness, some post-injury discomfort and even helping with postural problems (includes deep tissue massage techniques, swedish massage, sometimes similar to connective tissue/decontracting massage techniques and other techniques*).

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

It promotes lymphatic flow in the body and strengthens the immune system. It can improve the body's metabolism, stimulates lymph node activity and lymphocyte production. It helps the body get rid of waste and toxins (draining toxins, stagnant fluids and proteins from the interstitial fluid). A massage often similar to what is called linfodrenante in Italy*, which, if done three or four times a year, will be sufficient to improve health (minimum duration 60 minutes).
